If you've been following me for a while, you know I'm not just back to blogging. I'm also picking up where I left off with my unfinished business at Beauty Society. Yes, we're talking about the CO2 Laser, and this time, I'm not stopping.
So why CO2 Laser? Because for someone like me dealing with acne scars, textured skin, enlarged pores, and fine lines, it's one of the most effective treatments out there. I tried it once before, life happened, and I stopped. But my skin concerns didn't disappear with me, so here I am again.
Walking Back In
The moment I arrived at Beauty Society, I was warmly welcomed by the owner, Miss Divina, who then introduced me to Miss PJ, a well-trained beauty aesthetic expert. Even though I already had some idea of what to expect, Miss PJ still walked me through everything; the process, what to expect during and after, and most importantly, the aftercare. She mentioned that I'd need to use moisturizer and sunscreen religiously after the treatment. I'll cover the full aftercare routine in a separate post, so stay tuned.
The Treatment Itself
Before we started, Miss PJ made sure I was comfortable. Then I heard the beeping sound and the first laser hit.
Is it painful? Honestly? I'd say zero out of ten, and I'm not exaggerating. They apply a topical anesthesia about 30 minutes before the procedure, so by the time the laser starts, you barely feel a thing. It's more of an uncomfortable sensation than actual pain and even that is very manageable. The whole treatment lasted a good 30+ minutes.
Since I have a high pain tolerance, Miss PJ was able to use a stronger frequency, which I think will help get better results faster.
What to Expect After
Now, the downtime is real which depends on the person and I want to be upfront about that. After the treatment, your face will turn light red to dark red. Over the next week or so, expect some peeling and extra skin sensitivity. Staying out of the sun as much as possible is a must during this period.
Miss PJ went over all the do's and don'ts again before I left, which made me feel genuinely taken care of. Beauty Society didn't just treat my skin they made sure I walked out knowing exactly how to look after it.
Honestly?
I'm excited. More excited than I expected to be. I'm already looking forward to my next session, and I can't wait to share the progress and results with you as this journey unfolds.
